Kurt Cobain vs Depression

Kurt Cobain was born on 20 February 1967 in Hoquaim, Seattle. He was a child of two divorced parents, and was afflicted with bronchitis. Kurt often was often traveling and living with differnt relatives. Musical influences such as The Sex Pistols and Joy Division caused him to form Nirvana in 1986. Nirvana's second album, Nevermind, containing their first single 'Smells like Teen Spirit', skyrocketed them to stardom.
The divorce of his parents when he was the age of seven, caused him to feel depressed and unloved for the rest of his life. The separation of his parents will later be the main influence of Nirvana's music. Cobain was also a drug addict which could also be the cause of his highly personal and passionate music. On March 4, 1994, Kurt was rushed to the hospital in a coma after he unsuccessfully tried to commit suicide with painkillers. His final suicide attempt and last appearance was on April 5, 1994, after he locked himself in his mansion and shot a shotgun into his mouth. His body was found with a suicide note addressed to Courtney Love and his daughter.
I feel disappointed that Kurt had to deal with his depression. Although it fueled his great music, it also ended his life short. This shows that money and fame does not grant happiness.

Oh yay, I'm first to comment :)That sucks that how depression and all these stuff can get to people. I feel sorry for Kurt and wish that someone could've helped him, but it's great that people can listen to his songs and think about how he felt when they hear his songs. I agree with how you feel about Kurt, good job of explaining it "stupid car" :)

Whoa. Shotgun to the head? That's scary. It's really sad how people cope with depression in the wrong ways. We have so many therapies to do but they never get taken advantage of. Pretty sad indeed.

Definitely loved hearing about this guy, but it's not shocking that he had this disorder considering he may or may not of overdosed on pain pills. Good job!

It shows how you can't seek sustainable happiness and joy out of the material things in life if you are empty you need true love to fill you

It's so true! Money and fame don't grant happiness. But that's what makes it hard to spot depression among the famous. It's sad that he was depressed for so long and then ended up committing suicide.
